"I.T. Jump Start" is for kids - 1st grade through high school. This program was started to meet the growing demand from kids to know more about the workings and opportunities in the I.T. field while they are young - before college age.
This means that MSM offers several outreach programs:
+ After school programs: we work with schools in setting up a computer club that meets once a week after school hours. Usually these programs are supported by the computer teacher at the school, and we bring in programming of interest to the students. Past offerings have included: learning how a computer works, looking inside the computer and knowing its parts, assembling a computer, how does software work and how is it written, and much more.
For the more advanced students we offer to bring in computers for them to 'rebuild' ! This is fun for the kids! They get the opprotunity to feel like they have built a computer...all the while they have become familiar with the general workings of hardware and software.
For the even more advanced students, MSM offers to teach, on any school campus, a semester long class which includes all the above, plus we include all the business aspects of the I.T. field. This lengthier on campus learning opportunity includes a full curriculum of projects, research and assignments. Most high school level students find this class to be a great intro to a variety of aspects in the I.T. field.
